Did you participate in the last 90 Day Keto Challenge with us, or have you participated in one before?
I would love to hear how it went for you! Not in terms of pounds & inches lost, our Final Weigh-In is here for that, but I want to know what you STRUGGLED with most during this last 90 day challenge, or in your own personal keto/weight loss journey, and any questions you have about the ketogenic low carb diet…
Do you struggle with mindset, consistency, food choices, learning about macros, meal tracking, or what specifically?
In other words: How can I help you? 🙂
What CHALLENGES you most in your weight loss journey, or about the keto diet?
I’m creating the outline for our next challenge and I want to include a lot more help & resources to make it even MORE successful for everyone involved.
- Where are you in your low carb / weight loss journey?
- What topics are you most interested in learning more about?
- What do you need the MOST help with?
Even if you aren’t participating in the challenge and/or our private Facebook group, your answers will be a huge help – so thank you in advance!
2019 Keto Challenge: Education & Motivation Series
I’m really excited to kick off a new challenge & discussion series with you this summer, focused on “Education and Motivation” to both learn more about your body and a ketogenic low carb diet – and also to learn better ways to stay on track, stay motivated, and make it a healthy lifestyle change… more easily.
Whether you plan to participate in the private Facebook group, challenge activities & weigh-in’s or not, I would love your input on topics you would most like to see addressed & discussed.
For example, I’m currently interested in: fat loss & muscle gain (body composition vs weight loss), gut health, overall metabolic health, how to improve your ketone levels & metabolism, the science of calories – which are WAY more than just a number, just to name a few things!
Keto Challenge Links & Group Discussions
I’m kicking this challenge off a bit slower than usual, with a lot of discussion (input from you!) and ultimately a more structured series to help you stay on track and see RESULTS more easily.
Here are the challenge links & group discussions happening this week:
Starting Weigh-In: Current Weight & Body Measurements
My current weight is 139.4 as of this morning. I still need to do my body measurements! I’m focused on maintenance and also working on body composition during this challenge: losing body fat & gaining lean muscle weight.
Roll Call & Topic Requests Discussion
To see how I’ve run past Challenges & get all the Getting Started info to kick this off STRONG see my Spring Keto Challenge post – it’s full of great resources. 😉
There’s a great video and some helpful tips in this post: Keto vs Low Carb (Simplified!) You’ll also find the link to my Low Carb Classes on that page too.
Also see Video: Weight Loss Stalls & Discouragement? What To Do!
And this Keto Challenge Q&A post with frequently asked questions (and answers!), helpful videos and low carb grocery lists & ideas.
I created a new tag in our private Facebook Group too: “summer keto challenge” – that way you can easily find all posts from me in our group with updates & tips throughout this new summer series.
Another fun discussion we’re having in the group right now:
It’s hard for me to lose weight because _ _ _ _ _ _ _ .
There are HUNDREDS of comments on this in the group already if you’re interested in what others are saying. I’d love to hear your answer too!
Stay tuned for BIG doses of motivation, FUN mini challenges, and EASY ideas for eating low carb and getting in shape… that don’t require hours in the kitchen OR a gym.
I cannot wait to hear your input & suggestions! 🙂

I am still at 219. Traveling n skipping meals is a problem. I get hungry around 9 n cannot see to drive due to macular degeneration. I carry healthy snacks but eat too many. I am in for sure. Thanks for all you do. Feel better

Consistency is my problem. I’ve lost 20lbs only to gain most of it back slowly. I am keto for a few days, then go back to carbs. I bought the journal and am excited to use it.

Iβve been low carb for 5 yrs. lost all the weight I wanted to and maintained. Last yr during the holidays I gained 3-5 lbs and wanted it off. I dropped my carbs to below 20 a day, recorded everything I ate. Iβve been extremely careful and still Iβve gained another 2-3 lbs. Iβve been to dr and everything is fine so I am totally clueless as to why Iβve gained a total of 7 lbs and canβt seem to get it back off. Iβm 61 yrs young. Any ideas/help will b gratefully appropriated

I’ve tried low carb before but this time I am looking for success, need ALL THE help I can get in terms of accountability, recipes, tips, suggestions. This is my first challenge and I just want to see it through. My biggest issue is planning, prepping and variety. ….

I was so excited to start this plan, but bombed. I went out bought all organic food. Cleaned out my kitchen of foods, spices, anything not keto. I just could not find the time for cooking. I’m very busy. Little time for myself to sleep. I did great on Atkins, just cutting out the carbs. Wanted this to work for me. I hate to cook, but have no time to cook. Meals need to be simple. I hate cooking things where recipes call for things I don’t even know! So frustrated!!! Kat
Lynn Terry says
Hi Kate,
I rarely ever cook, and don’t worry with all organic etc. I use regular spices even (usually just salt though, but sometimes garlic powder). There are low carb foods and anti inflammatory foods, but “keto” is more a metabolic state than anything to do with organic vs not or even having to cook.
Atkins Phase One (now called Atkins20) IS keto – it’s very low carb and healthy fats, and that is exactly how you get in nutritional ketosis: by limiting carbs low enough to force your body to produce ketones and burn fat for energy instead of carbs/sugar.
Simple is good! π I think a lot of people over-complicate a ketogenic low carb diet and make it seem HARD – but I’ve been eating this way for over 8 years and have never done meal prepping or extravagant recipes.
Every now and then I’ll try a simple recipe just for fun, but it has to be something pretty simple (and very delicious, lol) otherwise I’m content with meat & greens, even if it’s fried eggs over fresh baby spinach – simple & quick!

I have been off and on for several years. I join and quit the rejoin and quit. I get bored. Iβm in this time again! I have made some purchases that Iβm hoping will assist me on staying focused!

I work two jobs but I need to lose 100 pounds

I did so good last year! Lost 20lbs on keto. Then stress started happening. Things I couldnβt control, death in the family and moving to a new state and building a house. It all came back and Iβm having a hard time wrapping my mind around eating differently. But I will get there! Have to or go shopping for bigger clothes π

Mindset, consistency, and lack of support in the home…and that means they’ll cheer you on while putting stumbling blocks before you. Not intentionally, but they’re not the ones who care about weight and health, even though they need to as well. I’m an addict in a house of addicts and the only one who knows they have a problem. And I have a hard time loving myself enough to do what will benefit me.

Where are you in your low carb / weight loss journey?
Just starting – although I’ve known about Keto…I have not managed to jump in and stay on it. I’ve done low carb and have kept my type 2 diabetis under control with that.
What topics are you most interested in learning more about? I love all the topics you share!
I’d say meals – but I’m simple – I pretty much will only cook on weekends – so I cook up meats and boil eggs and then have with salads during the week. I love seeing what you eat – I need more variety.
What do you need the MOST help with? I need to be consistent and stop letting my self have treats and such.

I never done keto I want to do it but I donβt know how it works someone was telling that you subtract the sugars and something el the the number you are left with that is carb count
I donβt know anything about and I would like a quick crash explanation on how to count the carb or point and how this works please
