I am on week 2 due to the hurricane. Down 3.3 pounds.
Lynn Terry says
Great progress in just 2 weeks, Holly! π
I’m glad to hear you are back online and life is getting back to normal. So many people went through such a difficult time… truly heartbreaking.

Shark week not getting near a scale
Lynn Terry says
lol, Angela – I don’t blame you. π
I am ovulating, even though I had a partial hysterectomy – that still causes me to bloat mid month. π
Here’s to next week! π *cheers*
Linda says
Down 5.3 lbs
Lynn Terry says
Way to go, Linda! π
Barbara says
What are the macros for your biscuits without spinach. Don’t like it
Lynn Terry says
It depends on how you make them. The base recipe (without spinach) is what I use to make all sorts of breads & biscuits, like these: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/4275/low-carb-biscuit-recipe/ Just use the base recipe and enter each ingredient and the amounts into the MyFitnessPal recipe calculator. That way you can easily log them. π
Temeka Harvey says
I just found this challenge yesterday. I started this morning!
Temeka Harvey says
Can we still have cocketails with low carb? I usually drink on the rocks (no mixers) or I have wine…
Lynn Terry says
Welcome Temeka! π
Sure – there are low carb wines, beers and liquors. I like Michelob Ultra which is 2.6 carbs per 12oz bottle. Or rum & diet coke. Plain rum is zero carbs. There are low carb wines too. I drink White Zinfandel – 1 carb per ounce.
Just keep in mind that alcohol takes longer to metabolize than food, so it may slow down your weight loss, but just temporarily.

I am learning a lot from your live sessions, Lynn. They are engaging and inspiring at the same time. I hope to learn enough to bring at least a bit of it into my own sessions when I start livestreaming eventually, and grow from there. π
I have made some tweaks, and am tracking diligently now, which I think is paying off. I am feeling lighter, but haven’t stood on the scales yet. I will wait a bit.
My meals are quite monotonous. I’d like to start losing weight consistently before bringing in new foods into my diet.
Lynn Terry says
Thank you, Galina! π I’m really glad you’re enjoying the live videos. They are tons of fun! I love when everyone joins in – it makes for a variety of interesting topics. π
I find it helps to keep your meals simple, and eat foods you’re familiar and comfortable with. I do that a lot as you may have noticed.
Tracking will really help. It was quite an eye opener for me personally when I started, and it was the key to me finally getting the weight off! π
Patty says
I did the first week of the challenge, lost 4 pounds, and then gave into a stressful week and started eating crap again. Iβm having such a hard time giving up the sweets and carbs!
Lynn Terry says
I’ve been there, Patty. The absolute best way to give them up… is to give them up! π The longer I stayed in ketosis, the less I ever wanted to eat anything with sugar or high carbs again. I don’t even crave those things anymore, and they don’t even appeal when I’m around them! That’s a BIG help.
I wrote this last year when I was going through a particularly tough and stressful time: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/10307/stress-depression-dieting/ I hope it proves as helpful to you… as it did to me. π *cheers*

Thank you so much for linking that article!!
I’m right with you Patty.. did great then gave into the world around me.
Lynn,
That article was amazing! Thank you again! Ready to get back on track starting….. now!
Lynn Terry says
I’m so glad you found it helpful. π
I was an emotional overeater … so finding something to replace food when I got stressed or upset was key for me.
I took up walking with my great dane, and we could really pound out some steps when I was really upset lol.
It helped though! And it actually helps improve my mood and helps me work through whatever is on my mind – where food NEVER helped anything. π
Wendy Carter says
For week 3, I am down 3 more lbs, that makes a total of 11 lbs so far…
I have been struggling this week, for week 4… so I know I have to really strict myself from potatoes… and desserts…
Lynn Terry says
Those are GREAT results in short time, Wendy! π Why do you feel you’re struggling this week – is it mindset or cravings or what exactly?
Wendy Carter says
Hello Lynn,
It is my eating habits… I love desserts and potatoes, and before I get on the scale I feel as if I have gained instead of lost.
As for week 4 I am down 2 more lbs, so I can see where I start off strong and stop eating what is right for me.
I know it takes determination, and yes I do have that… I am doing my 90 day challenge a little different based on the fact I am counting calories as well.. I do the tread mill 3x’s a week, along with outside work. (my biggest down fall is when it is insight I eat) and since I have stopped keeping track of it, I have noticed I am eating more again.
Marie says
Hi Lynn, I wind up off track for awhile due to relocating, the thing I find the hardest about sticking to it is 1, my limited income as I only receive a monthly income so it’s hard buying all the meats I need, 2, traveling n trying to eat right and 3, when I’m invited to a friend’s for dinner cause they no I don’t cook much due to health issues, there’s stuff there that isn’t on my woe but because they went out of their way to invite me I don’t wanna be rude and not eat or tell them I can’t eat certain things. Do you have any suggestions? Plz n thanks and Merry Christmas
