Today is my 3rd day back on track after taking a few days off to regroup, and it feels SO good!
Eating off plan (high carb) is always a FAST reminder why I do what I do, and why I continue eating a healthy ketogenic low carb diet.
I just FEEL my BEST eating keto – period. Plus I gain weight super quick otherwise. 😛 lol. Eek!
I had company this weekend – two carb eaters 🙂 – but they’re great friends and we make it work (sharing meals) without a problem.
For breakfast we had sausage & fried eggs with a small slice of tomato. They both had toast with their breakfast, which I skipped.
For lunch there was football and beer & pizza. I skipped all three.;)
I had what was leftover from our beautiful omelet the night before. It was filled with ham & spinach with onion & cheeses. I was happy they got the pizza, so I got the last slice of that beautiful omelet for myself. 🙂 haha
For dinner they finished off their pizza, and I made my favorite cereal.
It’s 1/2 cup pecans, 1/4 cup Daisy brand cottage cheese, 4 small diced strawberries and 17.5 grams of blueberries. (6 net carbs and 85% healthy fat)
Here’s my MyFitnessPal Food Diary for Sunday:
Macronutrients: Simple Explanation Of Low Carb Macros
How To Get A Net Carbs Column in MyFitnessPal
As you can see in my MFP food diary above, I went over my 20 net carbs yesterday… thanks to the Halo Top Creamery low carb ice cream I had last night while we watched a movie. 🙂
I still consider it a good day with great macros, and a success since I just got back on track after a few days off. My weight is already dropping with the water weight & bloating going down, which feels GREAT.
And the Halo Top ice cream was worth the numbers. 😉 lol
That stuff is delicious!!
How is your week going so far?
How are you doing with your low carb meals & macro tracking? Any questions or struggles? I would love to hear how your day went, and what you decided to eat.

Feeling very in control of things lately. A few days I have gone a bit over, but it’s still on low carb foods. Saturday night it was a few extra light beers and a glass of wine, but I forgave myself quickly as it didn’t do much damage. Yesterday I had a couple girlfriends over for the Packer game and made a great low carb spread…one of my friends loved it all and the other…well there was cheese and sausage for her π I made Salami, olive and cream cheese pinwheels w/ the mama lupe tortillas, deviled eggs, little cheddar smokies w/ out bbq sauce this kind for a change and I liked that! No need to waste my Sugar Free BBQ on those anymore π also shrimp and homemade low carb cocktail sauce. I got to have a little bit of everything and still woke up w/ a decent weight for my journey. Sounds a little pathtetic…but if I do finally get to 153 (I’ve been ranging between 154-156 for weeks now)…. by January 20th, I’ll have finally hit my 20 lbs for the year since that was when I recommitted to this lifestyle. I LOVE IT! People are asking me about it all the time and I’m proud to answer. Everyone can eat however they want…THIS IS HOW I WANT to eat for the foreseeable future π You’re making me think I need to get out and get some winter hikes in, but I’m a chicken compared to you and am pretty positive if I was that adventurous I’d end up falling and hurting myself. It’s finally back UP to 20 degrees today..so maybe just maybe I’ll get my lazy butt outside more this week. Otherwise I want to do home work out videos and yoga again. I set my alarm for it every morning but am just really struggling getting out of bed…not sure why but I’ve GOT to break that habit. Kudos to all you’re doing. You look so beautiful all bundled in the winter clothes. Wish I had someone like you close by who would get me to get out hiking! Happy Monday….I can’t wait to keep inching closer to all of my goals. I can’t WAIT to get where I’m going π

I wish we lived closer too, Amy. π We’d have SO much fun! And NONE of my friends “live on the edge” like I do out on my hikes lol. That’s why they get to take the pictures. π haha
This year of being adventurous has been about stretching my comfort zone (in more ways than one) and facing my fears. I’ve found so many things in my head held me back for so long, and by facing some of my more tangible fears – which is easy out in the woods (night hiking / dark, heights, etc) – it’s helping me feel more confident in many other areas… less reserved, and more bold.;)
You’re doing GREAT, and you ARE going to reach that goal!! π *cheers*

p.s. Yay for “the green ones” (as I call them, lol – I know nothing about the game, haha – but I do know they won!).
Your food spread sounds DELICIOUS. Nice job on that!!

Nice getting back on track. I had eggs and sausage this morning, so good. Like you I go through ups and downs with eggs, lately they have been stomach turning but todays runny eggs with 1.5 ounces of sausage was amazing!
Halo top, I like it too and treat like a treat not daily. Same wigh things like lc bread from netrition and sf candy…treats…not daily. I had a quesafilla over the weekend made with a low carb tortilla. Some people quickly judged me for the yucky ingredients. I got my feelings really hurt at first but dusted it off and told myaelf ya know yiu lost 105 lbs and are 3 lbs from from goal weight. A low carb chicken quesadilla is better than the one at chuys I was craving.
Kudos to you for choosing a lc option rather than breyers or dairy Queen:)

It’s definitely a “treat” for me too, not a daily thing. Although I wouldn’t mind ending EVERY day with a pint of Halo lol. π haha
It’s hard to believe anyone would give you a hard time for your quesadilla… given you’ve lost over 100 pounds. KUDOS for not letting that tank you, and for staying focused on YOUR health goals. π Amazing progress!!!!!

Thanks for sharing Terry! This challenge has helped me get back on track and have a 6lb week. BIG goal this past weekend? – Not gain it back! ( I may have even lost one of those over the weekend π I agree wholeheartedly w/ you & Amy- just feel so much better eating this way – I CHOOSE to eat this way. Thankfully 3/4 of the fam is on board and this makes it easier. I know that I cannot expect another week like this last one – but I am very pleased w/ the progress. Thanks again for all the ideas and encouragement.

What a great start, Melanie! π I find the first week is great for getting rid of that water weight, as it’s a natural diuretic diet. The second week is generally good too, but you may notice a temporary “hold” or even slight fluctuations during weeks 2 and/or 3 – because the body has an adjusting period after losing so much weight so fast. Don’t freak out, that’s totally normal, just keep doing what’s obviously working when that happens. π Here’s to an awesome year!! *cheers*
