Update: the original Keto Brownie Chocolate Almond Crunch nutrition bar is no longer available, but Keto Brownie has brand new products out this year that you’ll want to check out! 😉 Click here to see what’s new…
The Keto Brownie has been a hot topic across low carb communities ever since they were featured in the July Keto Krate Box. If you’re a subscriber, I bet it was one of the first things you ate out of that box! Right? 🙂
I loved this delicious low carb chocolate almond crunch treat SO much that I reached out to the company.
They just launched in June of this year so they’re still making their way around the web, including right here – sponsoring this post and supporting our community!
There are several reasons why I absolutely LOVE this tasty brownie bar, but the thing that tops the list is: texture & flavor! 🙂
They have such a RICH natural cocoa flavor, and a soft chewy texture with bits of cacao chocolate chips and crushed almonds:
Flavor and Texture are two things that are very important to me.
I want a food I can actually ENJOY. 😉
But even better: the quality of ingredients used.
I love that it’s a healthy treat!
They also have perfect LCHF Macros with ZERO sugar alcohols:
A Great Healthy Low Carb Snack On-the-Go!
This is a low carb, organic, gluten free Nutrition Bar you can fall in love with. ♥ I did!
I especially love that they are individually packaged to grab ‘n go or for a quick snack when you need something low carb without any fuss.
They’re not overly sweet either. They have a great rich flavor and perfect texture. Unlike many bars they aren’t chalky or hard. They’re soft, rich and seriously tasty!
And since they don’t contain any sugar alcohols, you don’t get that icky aftertaste or weird tingling effect like you experience with most sugar free products.
Keto Brownie Ingredients:
This is a low carb snack you can ENJOY that actually has good quality ingredients, all natural and organic:

Looks and sounds delicious!

I love that they’re organic and all natural – so a HEALTHY treat. Or more like a healthy TREAT lol. π
I also love that they are high enough in fat and calories to be a satisfying snack, and that I can easily make a meal out of them too – and be FULL.
This morning I ate 2 bars and a serving of pecan halves, which was a delicious and super filling breakfast… I could grab & eat at my desk on a busy morning. π
Gaye Miller says
I took one bite and thought – BLECH! Almost threw it in the trash, but sealed it up for another chance…maybe. Just took another nibble it two after reading this post. It’s slightly more palatable this time around. Sure wish I lived it as much as you do, Lynn.
Lynn Terry says
lol, Gaye – it was “love at first bite!” for me. π I wonder if your initial reaction was due to the fact that it’s not as sweet as you expected it to be?
That’s actually what I love MOST about the Keto Brownie. The fact that it’s not sickeningly sweet and full of artificial sweeteners that leave a horrible aftertaste in my mouth.
I like that it’s just a rich natural cocoa flavor. With no bitter bite, just rich and chocolatey.
Was it the flavor or the texture you didn’t care for the first time around?
Gaye Miller says
The flavor. It’s not the lack of sweetness…after LCHF WOE for 13 months I no longer care for the sweet stuff. I can’t really explain what I didn’t like about it. Sorry…it was just BLECH to me.
Lynn Terry says
No apology necessary lol, it turns out you’re not the only one – so it’s great to get a feel for the different preferences. I personally cannot stop eating them! π
What would you say IS one of your favorite “low carb products” – or is there a low carb bar you do like? That might give me a better idea!
Kathy D says
I keep seeing positive reviews on this item, but I must have received a “lemon” in my July KetoKrate. π Mine was blech…flavorless. Guess I’ll give them another go though as I’ve all but given up on bar-type items as they normally aren’t that great and the add-ins for most make them less attractive as a choice IMO. Hopefully another sample will come through in a Krate as I wont chance a whole box until I know if I like them.
BTW, Lynn, have you tried grated parmesan in your biscuits? I’m having trouble with the shredded versions locally (finding one without all the potato starch, etc.) so think I’ll venture to the grated as it’s readily available. Grating wedges of hard parmesan kinda defeats the “easy”! π
Plodding along one-step-at-a-time in the keto world and steadily in ketosis here. I swear I can feel those healthy fats nibbling away at the stubborn, nasties that weren’t budging without the higher percentage healthy fats added. Keep on truckin’, healthies. There’s a veritable smorgasbord waiting to be devoured. )
Lynn Terry says
I’m so glad the higher fat in your diet is proving helpful, and showing you results! π
I have never tried grated parmesan in the bread & biscuit recipes. Do you mean the kind you would sprinkle over pasta? I think I had someone tell me they tried that and it didn’t work. I do use Kraft Finely Shredded Parmesan in my recipes, and count it as 1 carb per serving (instead of zero like it says on the package). It has never affected my weight loss. π
Back to the KetoBrownie – I was surprised to hear you say “flavorless” about it! I find it so RICH, lol. I wonder if like I asked Gaye, if you expected it to be really sweet, or prefer things sweetened more – like the products with erythritol?
It may be taste buds, because on those sweeter products I have to add things like cream cheese or peanut butter to try to CUT the sweet taste and aftertaste. Which to ME are “blech” lol.
I prefer a more natural flavor, which is what I love so much about the Keto Brownie…
Kathy D says
My local grocery stores would rather push their store brands and don’t carry the Kraft Finely Shredded Parmesan…everything else BUT! π No problem I’ll just be sure and record all the calories burned shredding the wedge! π Obviously I think the biscuits are worth it! π
Now back to the Keto Brownies… The one I received in my July KetoKrate was bland and rubbery; i.e. like most protein bars IMO. I looked at the nutritionals and ingredients. They looked so solid for LCHF (especially with containing more healthy fats than normal) that I wish it tasted better…not sweeter just more flavorful. My many years on LCWOE has probably made me a bit of a cynic. I don’t expect much so am always pleasantly surprised when something new grabs me. I like the KetoKrates for that reason. I can sample without jumping in too far. π
BTW, my KetoKrate just arrived! S’cuse me while I dive in! π
Lynn Terry says
Enjoy!! π
I use the store brand shredded parmesan all the time too. It should be just fine in that recipe.
I’m still stumped on your Keto Brownie though. Mine are definitely not “rubbery” – but soft and chewy with the little bits giving it such a great texture.
Very strange!
Kathy D says
Lol! I ended up shredding the wedge of parmesan. Multi-tasked a good arm workout with the payoff being some yummy LCHF treats! I must admit they came out even better with the fresh wedge shredded. I try not to get the pre-shredded cheeses because of the added starch carbs so this will work out until someone stocks the Kraft around here. π
Nick at KetoBrownie made some single ships available this a.m. so I’m giving another brownie a whirl, Lynn. With your glowing review I’m going in positive. Wish me luck! π

I was not a fan, but I haven’t been a fan of other bars that were in the Keto Krate either. They almost seem greasy, and just don’t sit well with me. I can’t do fat bombs either for the same reason. I did think it had a good chocolate taste and you are right, not overly sweet.
Lynn Terry says
Yes, the flavor is GREAT. π That would be the coconut oil or other healthy fats then, so I can see where that preference would affect your liking. I actually love to mix peanut butter and coconut oil – and set it up like fudge. π
I love hearing everyone’s feedback!!
Laqueta D says
I got a Ketobrownie in the July Ketobox as well and it was fabulous. I was so surprised I was expecting it to taste like the standard protein bar (powdery, like medicine and overly sweet).but it was soft and chocolaty. I looked at the ingredients after my first bite in disbelief . As they say ‘you can’t please all he people all the time’ so not everyone will be in love but I for one am a fan and have ordered more.
Lynn Terry says
That’s exactly how I felt and what I thought, Laqueta! π I really love the quality of ingredients, but the taste & texture is definitely what won me over!!
Phyllis O. says
Just ordered a box, hoping for the best. Thanks
Lynn Terry says
I hope you love them as much as I do, Phyllis! π I can’t wait to hear what you think! Let me know as soon as you try them. *cheers*
Candy says
just ordered my first box….can’t wait to try them!
Lynn Terry says
Let me know when you get them, Candy – I can’t wait to hear what you think! I’m down to two bars left out of my box and need to order some more. π They’re delicious!!
Candy Joy says
Ok, so I was hoping they would be a little sweeter I must say….I can tolerate them but I don’t crave them (maybe that’s a good thing?)….anyway, I think I may try them with a little bit of peanut butter. Not my favorite but not awful either.
Lynn Terry says
Ah, I *loved* the fact that they weren’t too sweet, and that they didn’t have sugar alcohol or an icy aftertaste. They make for a great nutrition bar on the go!
Try them with peanut butter for sure, or enjoy them with nuts. Those are my two favorite ways to eat them. π

Ketobrownie sent my type 1 daughter’s blood sugar up to 162 (and out of ketosis)–ouch! We had dosed her 10 carbs for the bar (vs the 4 net) to get this result. The sweetener cannot be just stevia. After 20 min the rise in BS was small (6pts up) but in one hour’s time it was soaring. Something isn’t right here…
A second “test” confirmed that this stuff sends her blood sugar soaring. Maybe what is low carb for some isn’t for others but other bars do not have this effect (prima collagen, bulletproof).
We had no problem with the taste or texture though
Lynn Terry says
How odd :-/ Thank you for letting us know! Nothing on the label itself would indicate a culprit – right? I love that it doesn’t have any sugar alcohol and isn’t overly sweet. I wonder what ingredient could have caused such a spike??
